
About the college
The College of Agriculture - Tikrit University was established in the academic year 1993-1994, where it included only two scientific departments: the Department of Plant Production and the Department of Animal Resources Sciences. After that, the central admission to the Department of Plant Production was stopped, as the college directed its specialization in various agricultural scientific fields. Departments were created (Food Sciences, Field Crops, Horticulture, Landscape Engineering, Soil Sciences, Water Resources, Economics, Agricultural Extension, Plant Protection, and finally the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment).
To be a pioneer among its counterparts in the country with its academic staff and graduates, and to provide consultation, research, and community service.
The college aims to prepare specialized scientific cadres and staff in all fields of agricultural sciences to contribute to improving and developing food processing and livestock, increasing plant production and efficient investment of natural resources in the region and all over the country, in addition to providing advisory services in all specialized agricultural fields, as well as joint cooperation of the college with the Ministry of Agriculture, Health and Environment and other ministries and government departments to develop agriculture in the country to reach the highest levels of quality in agriculture and agricultural products, both quantitatively and qualitatively, to serve the citizen and the public interest.
Providing society with the scientific energies and competencies of graduates and providing solid research and advice to farmers and owners of agricultural projects.
