The Assistant Dean of the College for Scientific Affairs

The duties of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs represent one of the main pillars upon which the Deanship of the College of Agriculture relies. This office serves as the primary link responsible for overseeing conferences, seminars, workshops, and scientific activities within the college. In addition, it supervises the affairs of undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring their discipline throughout their academic studies and after graduation.

The responsibilities of the Office of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs also include responding to official correspondence, monitoring student attendance and absences, ensuring adherence to the unified dress code, reviewing the reports of student discipline committees, and coordinating with academic departments in preparing examination schedules. Moreover, the office ensures the implementation of the regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the directives of the Presidency of Tikrit University.

Duties and Authorities of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs


  1. Organizing final examination schedules in coordination with the scientific departments of the college.

  2. Preparing weekly class schedules in coordination with the scientific departments, taking into account classroom availability, to ensure the proper conduct of postgraduate studies.

  3. Supervising the weekly lecture records prepared for this purpose, ensuring coverage of all scheduled hours for each subject in accordance with applicable regulations.

  4. Monitoring the attendance and discipline of postgraduate students in line with prevailing rules and regulations.

  5. Reviewing postgraduate admission applications after receiving them from the scientific departments and consolidating them.

  6. Reviewing transfer requests of postgraduate students from other universities to the college’s postgraduate programs, referring them to the relevant scientific departments, and corresponding with the concerned authorities.

  7. Following up on postgraduate students with regard to study timelines and full-time study status, in accordance with regulations.

  8. Participating in postgraduate committees’ meetings in the college when invited, to discuss postgraduate matters according to departmental specialization, ensuring effective performance. Preparing the statement of defense for postgraduate students one week prior to the scheduled defense, organizing defense committee reports, evaluating them, and submitting them to the College Council.

  9. Supervising the preparation of annual postgraduate statistics in the college.

  10. Delivering and receiving examination booklets in accordance with established procedures.

  11. Announcing examination results after their approval by the postgraduate committees in the scientific departments, according to specialization.

  12. Providing the scientific departments with grades using the designated forms prepared for this purpose, for approval by the postgraduate committees.

  13. Coordinating with scientific departments regarding the submission of examination questions for both first and second attempts, in accordance with undergraduate regulations.

  14. Corresponding with official directorates on all matters related to postgraduate students’ academic records, from registration until graduation.

  15. Corresponding with the University Presidency / Department of Postgraduate Studies regarding all matters related to postgraduate students’ academic status.

  16. Corresponding with official directorates to obtain formal approvals for attendees, after their names and institutions have been identified by the relevant scientific department.

  17. Signing annual salary increment and promotion forms for postgraduate employees in his capacity as their immediate superior.

تاسست جامعة تكريت سنة 1987 عند تأسيس السلطة التشريعية لكلية التربية للبنات، بالاضافة الى كلية الطب والهندسة، وتعد أول جامعة في الجزء الشمالي الغربي من العراق، وهذه الكليات الثلاث كانت كأنموذج لمؤسسات التعليم المستقبلية تحت نظام التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي المشرع سنة 1970. توسعت الجامعة وفتحت فيها كليات اخر بدءاً بكلية التربية المختلطة وانتهاءً بكلية التربية التي انشطرت الى شطرين وأصبحت كلية التربية للعلوم الانسانية والعلوم الصرفة سنة 2013، فأصبحت الجامعة تضم مجموعة من الكليات المختلفة.
