The National Institutional Accreditation Review Team visits the College of Agriculture.

As part of its efforts to enhance the academic environment and ensure the quality of institutional performance, the National Accreditation Review Team visited the College of Agriculture to conduct an on-site review of its scientific and service facilities and to assess the level of infrastructure, as well as its academic and research activities.

The team was received by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Khudair Saeed, along with the administrative and scientific assistants, heads of academic departments, and a number of faculty members. They provided a comprehensive overview of the nature of work at the college, the educational programs offered, and the development plans adopted to advance the academic and research standards.

The visit included a field tour of several college facilities, during which the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, accompanied the committee members on an inspection tour of the greenhouses, poultry breeding fields, and fish farming ponds. The team reviewed the work mechanisms and applied experiments that contribute to linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, in support of the educational process and scientific research.

The Council of the College of Agriculture held its eleventh session for the current academic year 2025–2026, chaired by the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Khudair Saeed, with the attendance of all council members.

The Council hosted Dr. Abdul Karim Tareesh Sahab, Director of the Agricultural Extension Branch in Salah al-Din Governorate. The meeting included discussions on mechanisms for strengthening joint cooperation between the College of Agriculture and governmental institutions, in a manner that supports practical training and serves the agricultural sector in the governorate. The session was also attended by Laith Idris Hashim, the students’ representative of the College.

The Council further discussed the items listed on the agenda. The Chair emphasized the need for heads of academic departments to complete course schedules and to distribute teaching loads among faculty members in a fair and well-organized manner. In addition, topics related to postgraduate (Master’s) students were reviewed, along with the necessary preparations for the commencement of the second academic semester.

At the conclusion of the session, the Dean stressed the importance of expediting the completion and announcement of undergraduate students’ results within the specified timeframes, given their direct impact on organizing students’ academic progression and ensuring the smooth flow of the educational process.

The Central Committee Supervising Undergraduate Examinations visited the College of Agriculture as part of its field follow-up of the examination process in colleges and to review the level of preparedness and the measures taken to ensure the success of the examinations.

During its tour, the committee inspected the examination halls, organizational mechanisms, and the availability of logistical and technical requirements that contribute to providing an appropriate examination environment for students. The committee was accompanied on its tour by the Scientific Assistant, Assistant Professor Wissam Hamad Hussein, who provided a detailed explanation of the plans adopted to organize the examinations and address any potential obstacles.

The committee also met with the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Khudair Saeed, and discussed the overall procedures in place to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations and compliance with ministerial regulations and instructions.

The committee expressed its high appreciation for the efforts of the college deanship and the teaching and administrative staff, commending their commitment to providing all the requirements necessary for the success of the examination process. It affirmed that the level of organization and discipline observed reflects a high sense of responsibility and dedication.

For his part, the Dean of the College welcomed the committee’s visit and its positive remarks, affirming the college’s continued efforts to provide the best possible examination environment for students, ensuring fairness, equal opportunities, and the success of the educational process.

The College of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, held a specialized workshop entitled “How to Prepare Self-Assessment and Internal Audit Reports for Tikrit University Laboratories in Accordance with the Updated Iraqi Standard (2022)”. The workshop was held under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, supervised by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Khudair Saeed, and followed up by the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Sayyaf Abdul Hussein.

The workshop witnessed the participation of a select group of professors and specialists. The lecturers provided a detailed explanation of the mechanisms for preparing self-assessment reports and the requirements of internal auditing for university laboratories, with the Central Laboratory of the College of Agriculture adopted as a practical model.

The workshop aimed to enhance the efficiency of laboratory officials at Tikrit University and to raise the level of compliance with the approved Iraqi standards, contributing to the development of laboratory performance and the achievement of quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.

This workshop is part of a series of scientific and training activities implemented by the university to support the development of academic and technical staff and to advance the scientific and service reality of university laboratories.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Khudair Saeed, conducted an inspection tour of the college’s mushroom farm to review the workflow and production stages, as well as to assess the technical and logistical needs that contribute to improving performance and product quality.

During the tour, the Dean visited various sections of the farm, listening to a detailed explanation from the staff supervising the project regarding cultivation methods, care techniques, production rates, and the challenges faced along with proposed solutions. He praised the efforts of the working teams and emphasized the importance of adopting modern scientific methods to ensure a high-quality product that meets health standards.

Dr. Sami Khudair Saeed affirmed the Deanship’s commitment to supporting the college’s agricultural products, particularly mushrooms, due to their nutritional and economic value. He highlighted that the Deanship aims to develop production projects to achieve self-sufficiency for the college, with the potential to supply any surplus to local markets, thereby serving the community and enhancing the college’s resources.

He added that the college works to link academic learning with practical application by involving students in these projects, allowing them to gain hands-on experience, develop skills, and support scientific research and applied experiments in sustainable agriculture.

At the conclusion of the tour, the Dean stressed the need to continue improving the farm and overcoming all obstacles, affirming the Deanship’s full support for initiatives that enhance agricultural production and achieve the college’s academic and community objectives.
